Personality:

If you know anything about German Shepherds, you already know these dogs are a whole different breed of personality. And let me tell you… VAN IS ALL GERMAN SHEPHERD!

Van is an incredibly intelligent, handsome German Shepherd who is looking for something very specific in his forever home.

A JOB. A PURPOSE. AND A HUMAN WHO CAN KEEP UP WITH HIM!

This boy is SMART. And when I say smart, I mean the kind of smart that will absolutely keep you on your toes!

Van isn't looking for a family who expects him to be a couch potato 24/7. He's looking for someone who understands that German Shepherds were bred to WORK, THINK, and have a purpose.

And Van? Well, he's got all those classic German Shepherd quirks that make the breed so special!

🐾 Intelligent? Absolutely! This boy has brains, and he needs someone willing to put them to good use.

🐾 Crate trained? Wellllll… he'll go in his crate, but don't expect him to be quiet about his opinions! Van has some things to say, and he's not afraid to say them!

🐾 Strong personality? You bet! Van needs a confident, consistent handler who can provide structure, boundaries, and leadership.

🐾 Needs mental stimulation? YES! Training, enrichment activities, and having something productive to do will be important for this handsome fella.

Van isn't the kind of dog who needs someone to simply love him. He needs someone willing to UNDERSTAND him.

Breed Identification Disclaimer: At Ham & Beans Canine Rescue, we strive to provide the most accurate information possible about every dog in our care. However, in most cases, we do not know the dog's parentage and rarely have the opportunity to see either parent. Breed designations are based solely on information provided by shelters, previous owners, surrendering families, veterinary staff, or our best visual assessment. Because mixed-breed dogs can inherit traits from many different breeds, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any breed identification. We encourage adopters to focus on each dog's individual personality, temperament, energy level, and needs rather than breed labels alone.
